Essential and emergency soft tissue surgery

This course is developed and given in a collaboration between AniCura and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Utrecht University. Theoretical lectures are given and practical wet labs tutored by a group of highly experienced surgeon specialists.

Target audience

The course is for veterinarians with limited surgical experience, who want to develop good surgical skills in the most common soft tissue surgeries and emergency surgeries. The course is given in English.

Course content

Lectures and practical wet labs (with cadavers) covering the following topics:

• Gastrotomy, gastropexy
• Enterotomy, enterectomy & anastomosis
• Tracheostomy, arytenoid lateralisation
• Esophageal surgery
• Perineal hernia repair
• Hysterectomy
• Cystotomy, cystectomy
• Episiotomy

Lunch and two coffee-breaks in between.

Costs

€ 650,- +VAT, incl. lectures, practical trainings, course material, lunches and coffees. Hotel and travel costs are not included.
