Cystatin B is a newer urine test for detection of renal tubular cell injury that occurs early in acute kidney injury preceding an increase in functional markers such as SDMA and creatinine by up to two days. This talk will provide clinicians with a practical approach to appropriate use of this test and what to do when it is increased.
