FVE invites you to a joint webinar on Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) in Europe in collaboration with the University of Surrey and EFSA (European Food Safety Authority), on Friday, 20 March at 10:30 CET!
This interactive session will bring together leading experts offering a comprehensive and practical perspective on this priority disease.
Jane Clark, FVE representative Vice-President, will introduce the context and objectives of the webinar, the importance of PPR and role of veterinarians, as well as an overview of the collaboration between FVE, EFSA and the University of Surrey.
Olivier Kwiatek, virologist at CIRAD, will provide an overview of the European PPR situation and diagnostic tools for practice, as well as practical implications for veterinarians and competent authorities.
Sara Lysholm, PPR Status Officer in WOAH’s Status Department, will explain the global situation of PPR and the role of WOAH and disease status, also tackling trade implications and international considerations.
Abel Bulamu Ekiri, lecturer in Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the University of Surrey, will present the objectives of the survey assessing the perceptions of veterinarians in Europe on the level of PPR preparedness, and how the results will be used.
