GEANNULEERD: BSAVA congress 2020, 2-5 April, Birmingham (UK)

In 2020, delegates can expect nothing but the best, with over 100 internationally recognised speakers and experts, picked out by our committee of volunteer vets and nurses, delivering a diverse programme of CPD.

Highlights in 2020 include more open to all streams and a wide range of lectures to cover all levels of expertise from the graduate to advanced veterinary practitioners. We have more AVP streams, an infectious disease stream as well as favourites such as endocrinology, critical care and trauma medicine, ophthalmology and cardiology. Interactive streams are represented–a gastro-intestinal stream on Thursday, anaesthesia on Saturday and the ever popular ‘What’s your diagnosis?’ stream on Friday. We have introduced new wet labs this year –with a chicken anatomy refresher focussing on linking this knowledge to clinical presentations and common procedures, and a similar session for rabbit anatomy. We also have a new dermatology practical covering skin scrapes and ear cytology. Nurses have a new stream on district nursing, and there’s a focus on compassion and wellbeing in our management streams.

BSAVA works in partnership with many associations to deliver expert and specialist content, and in 2020 we have representation from NAVC, BVRSMA, RCVS, RCVS Knowledge, VMG, BRAVO, SPVS, and more. Plus, as part of our anniversary celebrations, an exciting stream on Saturday will take a dive into topics from the 1991 programme, and look at today’s modern approaches.
